Town Center Block Party and Candidates' Forum
May 19, 2008 Lake Carolina’s 5th Annual Town Center Block Party Northeast Columbia Voters Invited to Meet the Candidates
Columbia, SC – Lake Carolina will host a Candidates’ Forum during its 5th Annual Town Center Block Party on Tuesday, May 27. The Block Party lasts from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Candidates will be available for a “Meet and Greet” from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the Candidates’ Forum from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Both events will take place on Long Pointe Lane in the Harborside Town Center at Lake Carolina and are open to the public.
Republican and Democrat candidates for local House of Representatives, Senate and County Council races have been invited to speak for a few minutes and to meet voters throughout the event. Prior to the forum, residents will receive a brief update on a hot topic for residents of Northeast Columbia - the efforts to widen Hardscrabble Road.
The Block Party is an annual community-wide celebration that showcases Lake Carolina merchants and features a variety of family-friendly activities. Come and enjoy FREE fun for your entire family with live music, an old fashioned political stump for candidates, children's activities, entertainment, merchant specials and yummy food!
